This is a stoneware lamp base I think ??
Browny green almost wood like pattern hand made and painted the hole in the top is 1" round the base 4" across x 7" high, it has a small hole in the side at the bottom for a very small cable ? I dont know of any that'll fit .. the hole was definatly done pre glaze as theres a small run in the glaze which goes through the hole.. the base is signed with a large B with G inside the top & M inside the boottom of it, also R6.
The funny thing is that I saw this and picked it up at a cbs in the morning the seller wanted more than I wanted to pay so I left it ;-(
Then at the tip in the afternoon and there it is !! I bought 4 things a beswick cup listed a teapot not listed yet a bowl and this all for £1.

Its a great shape almost middle eastern I think but from Europe somewhere . All help very appreciated
Maybe a water pipe base, but the hole on the side has me wondering.
Water pipe base ?? The hole is very small about 4mm , dunno how you would fit anything to it as you cant get to the inside , maybe a very small cork!! Thanx for the interest ill google it .. cheers sd
