Vintage Anchor Earrings - 1960s?

Here is my other find of the weekend: a nice pair of juicy red anchor earrings. The moulded plastic they are made of looks very similar to bakelite, but it is lighter, so it may be galalith or lucite. I believe they date from the 1960's as the clasps look pretty old, but I'm not sure...
Anyway, I'll have fun wearing them this summer (with a sailor shirt?)! ;)
