This is a Stock Certificate from the "Electric Underground Trolley Railway Company" incorporated in the State of Massachusetts dated October 1908.
It is No. 177 for 5 shares at $5 each and has a pressed embossment seal on the left side beneath the eagle. - Not for an underground railway as it sounds, but for a trolley that received electric current from underground.
