Hi. I was wondering if anyone knew more about this ring. On the front side is the lettering: U.S. Air Forces with a symbol of the Air Force. Also it has lettered: U.S. Army - which I think means that the ring comes from the time when the Air Force was under the Army. The backside of the ring says sterling.
Hi. Adding this vintage ring U.S. Air Force ring in the hopes someone can tell me more about it. Thanks.
yeah must be a WWII ring- The United States Army Air Forces (USAAF or AAF) was the military aviation service of the United States of America during and immediately after World War II, successor to the United States Army Air Corps and the direct predecessor of the United States Air Force.
Thank you south for that great info! I literally found this on the ground years ago!
great "find"!!
Thank you south! :)
How I would LOVE to find that! Maybe I should ask you to come look for the WWII Air Corps necklace I lost a few years ago. ={ This is a wonderful ring!!
Hi heirloomangel, thank you! Hope you lost your necklace in your house and not out on a trail around a lake where I believe I lost my fav antique brooch :)
Jewels ~ That would be nice, but no such luck! Lost it at the local sprint car track. Went back the next day, retraced steps x2 and searched for 4 hours. Have never seen another one like it. That just stinks about your brooch too! ={
Aww I know how you feel! I walked 8 miles searching! I almost came back with a metal detector, but I decided to "let it go" as they say :)
