This Japanese good luck flag was carried into battle by a Japanese soldier and was captured by a Marine. This flag shows extensive use with rips, holes, and bloodstains, bearing strong evidence that this flag was actually used in combat. These flags would be tied to a rifle, or folded and put into a pack or helmet, which was common.
