Okay so this ring. It's huge across, 1 1/2" (picture the size of a button mushroom for dimensions), and the whole surface back to front top to bottom is covered with marcasites. But there are no markings on what I would have presumed was a silver setting. Instead looks like base metal, possibly silver plated. I'm guessing this is a designer ring, would love to know who did design/make it. Any information, guesses, ideas, theories, tarot card readings, please feel free to share. Thanks for looking.
BEAUTIFUL!!!
Hello my friend! If there are no markings - it still could be sterling - or a wonderful, new costume piece for the hippy or gypsy fortune teller in you! And, that's ok!
In the 90's many of the old 1930's marcasite designs were copied in Thailland and were really popular imports. I know because my friend imported some really lovely examples. If you want to see them send your email address please. I have some lovely "fake" art deco and Victorian items. They are sometimes marked 925, sometimes no mark, and many with semi-precious stones (citrine, amethyst, carnelian, onyx, amber - again real or glass? prices were so low and they look gorgeous.
You might have one of those well-made repros. Definitely a bling ring for card playing dazzle....

Sean, thank you for your nice compliment, glad you think it's beautiful. :)
Valentino, my friend, I think you're right, this is certainly unique and eye-catching, which is why I thought it was a designer ring, but a knock off makes perfect sense. You have my email addy, feel free to contact me anytime. Hope you are well. :)
