Who needs television when you have something like this?

It's an early peepshow box with 10 different scenes. The scenes are original (prob. 19th century or even earlier), but I'm not sure about the box. If anyone can tell me more about it's age it would be nice.

The illusion of depth is simply amazing, but hard to capture on photograph.

      Hi,

Just saw this. The box has the look of a 18th century dutch box(last half of the century). Typically sets of peepshow views(the most famous made by Martin Engelbrecht) had six views. So when you said it came with ten views I assume you meant ten sets of views. If a set had ten views it would be very unusual and need a special viewing box.

      Hope this is helpful.

Thank you for this interesting info trope897.

Yes I meant ten different sets. Not all sets are complete unfortunatly. As I bought it in the Netherlands you are bang on with your 'dutch box'.
Some have the sets have the name Engelbrecht on them.
