My Uncle saved this machine from going on a bonfire. It's a 1893 Singer 27 Serial number 11594759 with vibrating shuttle and has a coffin box cover. It has a kidney shaped plate on the back. The puzzle box was with another Singer 27 I purchased but have given to my sister. I have managed to get it to sew but still need to work on the tension. YouTube helped with learning to thread it all up as the VS was bizarre and I was clueless, worked out to be quite simple. I love these old machines the technology amazes me and if only they made things to last as well these days .
Update 03-04-2016 I recently found a middle drawer on ebay so my machine is complete. I will be patchworking denim jean patches into material to reupholster an old armchair, so looking forward to this project.
