My find of today with a little talk from my sister. I have no room left on my collecting shelf but I just had to have her. She has been on my "need list" for a long while, so I am happy to finally be able to cross that one off. Here is a little story about the piece. The Jayne Mansfield Hot Water Bottle is 22 inches long, and made of hard plastic molded into the shape of the famous actress and sex symbol. It was dreamt up by one of her promoters, during the height of her fame. At one point, there was even a proposal to do a life-size version, but the idea was eventually rejected as being too vulgar. It was a rare occasion of good judgment being exercised in the course of her career.
On her feet is the original makers mark: Poynter Products Inc. Cincinnati, Ohio, 1957 and on her other foot is the number 12
