The characters just say Peoples Republic of China. This must be post 1949.
This is a male dog - hence the ball under it's foot. There may have been a female to go with it but no matter, it's a lovely piece.
Thank you, can you check out my other foo dog and tell me what that text means if you can make it out.
I have a stallion horse similar to the size of your foo dog and with the same label. The horse has 5/10/72 hand written in ink on a small paper label beside the other label.
The Chinese text may read "Made in the ......
