Pair of Burl Wood Table Lamps

I inherited a pair of carved burl wood table lamps that belonged to my great grandmother. It is believed they are "art nouveau" style (1890-1910). One depicts a woman and the other a man. They are extremely heavy and stand 18 inches tall. They are signed "Luigi". No further information is available. I would appreciate any information you might have about these beautiful but unusual lamps!
