    This pretty little plate looks like it could be used to serve wasabi and pickled ginger or something like that. i like the decoration alot, but it's almost invisible when the plate is used. kind of unusual, i think...??

      Maybe it's a lid?

      thanks racer. i don't think it is. the glaze would cover the the small foot rim if it was actually a lid. i think that this is the way it was used.

      It's a lid. It might be for a chawan mushi cup.
