I need some help with Identification on this chisel. I know it's a RobTSorby chisel but would anyone be able to tell the age and if that handle is original.

The handle has been whipped with wire and bound with what looks like electrical tape which is quite common. Sorby has a web site and can probably answer your questions if you contact them with pictures ( right side up for the print). Sorby is expensive but worth the money if you work with tools.

I have noticed that the wire acts like a spring when sliding the tang into the slot of the handle and the tape is much thicker and stronger then electrical tape but is no doubt added after the fact.
