I am an addict when it comes to ALL things Victorian, purses, clothing, home items, paper items etc. And this is one of my favorite pieces that I have. I even have a pair of very early 1900's ladies lace up leather black boots that I actually wear. They were resoled.
This purse and change purse to me is an elegant gold tone finely etched purse frame, with a brass chain/handle, this beautiful petit-point tapestry fabric of ladies gathered in a pretty and colorful setting. With a lovely floral border all the way around. The evening bag has a silver tone clasp with a crown like appearance to it with it's intricate detailing. That was from a time when they put so much pride in all things made. You can see the wear on the inside of the bag, the frame. The evening bag measures approx. 5" high, 5 1/2" across the top, 6 1/2" across at it's widest point, and it is 1" wide across the bottom when lying flat. The chain has approx 4 1/4"drop. The lining is in very good condition. I actually use it on occasion.
The coordinating change purse looks to have been added later to the purse, but I am not sure, either way it is a wonderful addition. There is a beautiful shade of green/blue cabochons on top of the kiss closures on the change purse which I love.
