I would like to know if anyone has seen a Renoir piece as this which has the hallmark on the front, "Handmade Renoir of California" on it.
And it appears that above the "D" there is a "V".

Also this piece is coated inside with aluminum.

I would like help on knowing more of this.

This has been in my family for years. My Mother possibly bought it second hand as she did most of our household, jewelry, clothing, and more.

    Unsolved Mystery

I have a great resource book "Copper Art Jewelry, A Different Lustre" by Burkholz and Kaplan. It says that jewelry from 1948-1951 have the "handmade Renoir California". It also mentions "During the Korean War, copper supplies dwindled and precluded using solid copper for belts and large bracelets. A bonded sandwich of copper and aluminum was substituted during those years but the amalgam was short-lived since it was flimsy and unpopular."

Thanks JewelryAm (not an Amateur!) I didn't know the above and realize I have some of those Korean-era pieces too. Oh, and in the book it shows the V above the D, but I can't find a reference to that....hmm, a mystery.

      Possibly the "V" signifies "Victory".
