Oil Lamp-Purple tinted glass etched clear - odd shape - homemade or?

I picked up this oil lamp in a thrift shop and have not been able to find anything like it online. The shape is odd and the glass seems to be tinted with the etched areas being clear. I am wondering if it was someone's homemade project or an actual lamp that was produced. The burner seems to be Plume & Atwood Eagle. There are lines where the purple tint has been scratched off revealing the clear glass. The black base is also glass. Any advice appreciated. Its about 12.5" tall Thanks
