Here is a nice Ambrotype 1/6 plate of CW solider proudly displaying his 6th corps badge along with his veteran stripes. These veteran stripes would have been appropriate for wear from mid-1864 on.

This solider also looks to be wearing a circular ID disk on his vest.

Nice Civil War image-- a corporal too!

What about the thermoplastic case? These nice, no doubt Civil War images are getting much harder to find these days (at reasonable prices).

The thermoplastic case is in excellent shape, no nicks or cracks. The velvet lining is prefect.

Your case is 2-40R Basket of Flowers (Berg). There are a couple of versions of this case. Yours is the most desirable version.

I like the rounded cases as they seem to age much better-- less corner chipping.
