Zenith Handbag Made in Canada White Reptile Embossed Leather ?

This is a nice sized little cross body bag -- The strap is long, has a 20" drop and the bag is pretty small -- about 7½ x 5 ½ x 2 ½" The latch is home and gold colored. The frame is stiff and it has a small zipper compartment inside. It is lined in a beige/tan grosgrain and there is a small metal mark for Zenith, made in canada inside.

I can't tell what it is made of -- it looks like lizard or snake skin but there are no seams or marks. The inside flat is lined with a leather/vinyl that is cracking a bit otherwise the bag is in great shape.
I'd love to hear anyone's thoughts on how old it is and of what material it is made.
