    It is marked Meriden B. Company This lovely old basket is plated four times with silver. The plate has birds on it. It looks Handmade. Has anyone seen something of this kind or know any info on this piece?

      I love Victorian silverplate-- very reasonable and such a great variety.

      The #183 is a production number for your piece.

      Today collectors call these "Brides Baskets".
