    I have a brown pottery bowl that is speckled glaze stoneware (thanks to maryh1956 for the description). It looks to be a hobbyist bowl, I can not make out the artists name, but it does look to be dated '80.

      Speckled glaze stoneware. There appears to be a mark in the base center, no?

      There’s definitely a mark there but hard to see. If you crop the photo just to show the base, we may be able to read it, or use a magnifying glass.

      Thanks maryh1956, looking at it under a different light source made all the difference... I still can't make out the crafter's name, but it is dated '80.

      Yes it’s hard to read, but begins with a C. It doesn’t look like an amateur piece though. I have a US studio pottery link a sa bookmark, I will post the link for you

      Actually it has Studio pottery marks from various countries, you might get lucky!
