      Maybe a cap gun, but not a real gun.

      Agree-- it is a toy and looks to date from the late 20th century.

      Yep, similar are still sold at historical sites - toy cap gun. Bought a slightly different one for my son at Jamestown or Yorktown when he was a kid.
