I have this very old looking curler, and two hair clips. I only have the one of each. I remember my grandmother using the hair clips, but not the curler. I know she had a tin full of the clips, but these are the only two that were left in her make up carrier...
It's a curler - and it's complete. 1940s or thereabout.

I just read your post from 2 years ago.
My mother used to roll my hair on those when I was an elementary school student in the 1950s.
Since the curlers were so skinny, they made very tight curls in my naturally straight hair. I went to school with some of the most embarrassingly hideous hairdos any little girl ever had to suffer thru!
Your post brought back some memories!
