Hi everyone :)
I was wondering if anyone knows what this is? I can see a candle holder of some type, but was there more that came up out of the top? Who made it? What's the pattern? And possibly a year of when it was made? Thanks in advance :)

I don't see any area on this piece that could have been modified for electricity. Where would the wiring be placed - who wants to see an electric cord running up the middle of a lovely piece of old glass. I've searched online and can not find a clear glass triple candle holder that's been converted to electricity.
I have one just like it except that there is an additional candle holder in the center that is attached via a fixture so that an electrical cord could have been passed through making it a lamp instead of just a candle holder. That brings the date of the piece forward to the 1930's as it would be a transition piece having both candles and electricity. However, the glass part really looks a lot earlier. I would be glad to post a picture of mine if someone would show me how.
I have one like it that someone did turn into a lamp. I've been looking for information on it for years and this is the first that I have seen. I would love to know its history.
oh wow. I am glad to find this little thread about this odd candelabra! I have just purchased one!! Curious, and just like kwardpro said ; mine came with a metal fitting that looks a lot like a lamp part for the center! At the moment it is apart and I'm not sure how to fit it together, but the center of the whole thing is hollow, so it could definitely accommodate a "standard" brass tube or whatever it is that would go inside there and hold the electrical wiring. The opening to the top is quite small; suitable for just that tubing, I suspect.
It ( mine) is very heavy pressed glass, and has many irregularities/ flecks of dust (it looks like) within the glass. I think that as a transitional piece it could be a lot earlier than 1930's - from what I read the availability of electricity was quite rapid in the cities.... and wiki says: The first large scale central power station in America was Edison's Pearl Street Station in New York, which began operating in September 1882..... but .....Only in 1925 did half of all homes in the U.S. have electric power.
Mine also came with TWO bobeches that are specific to the piece: one goes on each side with 6 prisms each. AND there is a candle "cup" for the top part . But the metal "fitting" would need to be reinstalled in order for the center "candle cup" to have something to attach to. It is awkward looking with the truncated center, but my fitting is off, and the candle cup is chipped , so perhaps I will get to like the look of this without anything else ( except a small hole) in the center ( as in the pictures above).
I have no clue where to find more information, but would be happy to hear from anyone!

cmdviola, I have one of these candelabras without the tubing and the top piece or bobeches. Could you post or send me pictures of the bobeches and candle bowl/cup that goes on top? TIA
