Hi we have here a red marbled codd from Peter Thornton South Shields
size 6/ounce
the idea of a coloured marble identifying specifically the mineral water company , the bottle manufacturer only used one colour to one town etc
pictorial castle turret with arm out stretched with arrow in hand
in this Victorian period thieving was rife of minreal water bottles
but with extra cost of coloured marble or lip many did not choose to do this making the ones that did rare
