I found several of these items in a box of tools bought at a market but have no idea what they are for. Each of the 3 holes in the chromed part will fit on the bar of the other part. The chrome part has a heavy fixing screw, the other part has 3 smaller screws. In the first picture overall length is about 4 inches. Anyone got any ideas?

Well spotted. I forgot to include this in description, it is stamped "Dudley & Co. Ld."
