    Looks "encased" to me. I don't know the name for that. I think those might be real gold flecks all through it. It's heavy and a little over 12" tall. Any ideas as to maker? Thank you!

      Btw, the inside is a deep purple color. But looks almost black in the picture.

      very pretty!! I think Karen will know as it looks like it could be vintage japanese glass in my opinion. See what Karen says when she pops on.....

      Thank you, antiquerose! Acquired from a lady who loved collecting "expensive" vases (according to the family). When she passed away last year, her family donated about ten of her vases to a local shelter for battered women. I bought this one.

      Definitely Japanese.
      This is 1960s/70s Kurata Glass and a beautiful piece, rare decor in the West as it was not exported.
