Here's the story on this train and the matching passenger cars.
I've been going to a Hobby store that only carry's vintage and use trains.
From N scale to O gauge and every other scale
I go to this store to talk trains on Saturdays I don't work.
I have very nice talks with the older guys that love the old Lionel postwar and prewar trains and they like Marx trains too.
The story of this train:
I know a guy very well named Jim. He worked in the auto industry.
Jim painted custom cars. Jim is very good with paint.
Jim Painted and designed this train.
painted in a two tone green, and costumed with brass rivets on both side of the train. The passenger cars are matching
Jim sold it to me for $150.00. I was happy to pay that.
Jim is a great friend and I wanted something of his, to remember our friendship .
This train dose have electric revers unit.
This 253 is a one of a kind and runs like a dream.
I never run this train , this train is proudly displayed on the top shelf, of my display shelf, with other rare and cool 253's.
