Taken just now from second floor off my house...it is 22:14 at night :) just wanted to share with you people. And later in the middle off summer sometimes the sun just shines 24/7 But then again in the winter when it is hardest it sometimes never comes proper daylight i took the dog out to pee at midnight...you can see the light is even more because the sun moves to where the mountains end and the light becomes even more for a while :)

I visited last year in June for 20 days. We rented a car at Reykjavik and drove it around the country. It rained most of the time we were there but we drove carefully and enjoyed everything!! Because of the daylight we drove too much and sometimes I cried being so tired. I remember something by your city....the artist who was given a place to paint. I have to look at my notes. It was a very beautiful spot!

The artist hut was by the Selfljot River - moving west from your hometown. Of course you know who he is: Johannes Svelnsson Kjarval 1885-1972. Please excuse misspellings! We loved this tribute, very beautiful :-)

So interesting Isol. I guess lots get done in summer, and not so much in winter.
The view from your window is spectacular!

Yes Karen :) ppl often sleep little in the summertime to use the most of both daylight and nightlight hehehe. And in the winter ppl get tierd quick because of the dark. Sometimes its dark all day...maybe not night- time dark but dark enough to fall asleep in.

Maybe in the winter most of the wonderful knitting is accomplished? I would rather visit in the summer with the 24-hour sunlight, but like I mentioned we were so tired at times our judgement was gone and I cried with exhaustion. I saw cars pulled off the road to sleep. We probably should have done that, but we had all our lodging booked in advance (all great!). If I visited in the winter I would bring books on tape and beading or sewing projects :-)

Yes valentino97 people tend to use the cold dark days inside. The winters here can be beautiful and extra bright in the daytime because of the reflection in the snow.
