Hi have had a read on the internet to try & date this. Clasp is a very straight capital C if that makes sense.

    Is it costume jewellery?

Can anyone shed light on what this is & possible date?? Any other information would be great. Bought from a thrift shop.

Yes, costume jewelry. The only thing I can think of is that this is pinned onto a jacket lapel and a scarf is put through the loop.

I do like the idea of it being a bottle opener! Possibly a bit pretty and weak to work well.

I agree completely with Efesgirl. Definitely costume, post WWII & designed for doing something clever with a scarf, which may indicate 1970s, when that look was popular.
