    Found in my grandfather's barn. Unidentified stake of some sort. Has a lever that activates anchors the come out of the side at the base of the stake.

      It looks like a spear used to put loose hay into a barn. You push the tine down into the loose hay on a wagon and the mechanism will engage prongs on the point of the spear to grab the hay. After it is lifted to the top of the barn it runs along a trolley to the center where you would then pull on a rope that releases the hay. Further pulling on the rope will bring the spear back to the wagon for another load of hay.
