Hello I have another gold chain that I have de tangled , not sure how old it is but it looks vintage ,it very long.

Hi! I think it is gold plated 1/20th of 14k; still a useful chain. Difficult to date.

Gold Filled is better than gold plated. The gold plated will eventually peal or flake off. You just have to see if after the G is an F, which I'm pretty sure it is. Usually gold plated says RGP. That means rolled gold plated. Bottom line tho is that if you don't know, be sure to take it to a couple jewelers. But for sure it's filled. That 1/20th does give it away. One last thing, if you come across one that says 14k GP that is most likely Gold Plum and is all gold, all good. A bit confusing, I know.
