Hello I found this old lock and broken chain that's someone has broken up, it is marked in a way I've not seen before so hoping someone can help with more info about this, I think it must be at least vintage.

20 microns is very good and used e.g. on watch cases with a 20 year wear guarantee.
Honestly marked and a good answer for claims often seen here on CW ‚‚not marked but tested for gold‚‚
      The same here - Victorian:

Unfortunately, it cannot be repaired because if hard soldered and acid pickled, which cannot be avoided, the gold coating would disappear. But if long enough, links can be mechanically manipulated with non- serrated pliers, carefully because they are hollow.

Thanks Ivan great info and help. Never seen the 20 microns before so thanks for explaining and I need to have a look to see if I have the rest of the links.
