A stunning late inter-war period Officer's Wolseley Sun Helmet to the Highland Light Infantry. The Sun Helmet is in good condition for its age. The Pagri fold is in good condition with minor service wear. The chinstrap has some wear but is still in pretty good shape. To the side of the sun helmet is a large McKenzie tartan flash, as used by the Highland Light Infantry and Seaforth Highlanders. The flash is beautiful and in great shape, it really stands out on this piece. Directly above the flash and sticking out of the pagri is a beautiful white feather plume which adds so much to the helmet. The white feather plume is original to the sun helmet, but it can be removed and put it again, there is a slot down the pagri that allows you to do so.

The interior shows some service wear, but the majority of the tinfoil wrapping that is in the interior of the sun helmet is still present, with only a small potion gone due to service wear and age. The leather sweat band shows wear but it is in good shape overall. The cap is manufactured by "Helmets Ltd." and is 1938 dated, making it a very late interwar period Sun helmet. It is very possible this sun helmet could have continued to be worn into WWII. The sun helmet is named, written in block letters on the leather sweatband is the Officer's name, "A Gollan". I have not been able to find anything yet on this Officer but I will continue looking to see if anything comes up.

Overall a stunning, beautiful and good condition sun helmet to the Highland Light Infantry.
