Can you tell us what it says please?
Albert Lagae Mears (then it is followed by what looks like a 19) 1877. Sorry about the phot!
The engraved inscription is in French, the name and 19 March 1877.
If there are no other marks (search for them) it would be impossible to identify the maker.
Ok great. I'll get to my grandmothers house and get some better pick of the makers mark. Pretty sure it has something to do with my uncle Johns family history research. I wish I spent more time talking to him because now the task has fallen to me. Please stay tuned in a couple of days! Thanks again!!
