This was being thrown away by a customer of mine who said she thought it was valuable once but can't be bothered with it anymore !!
She also told me that its been in her family for a very long time .. she also said she thought it was Persian!
So here goes!! !- can anyone tell me anything about it ??
Is it persian /oriental /turkish etc
I was told to count the knots and that would give me an idea of age ??
Roughly 20x 20 per inch depending where you measure it!
The rug is roughly 9ft x 4 ft & pretty worn in places with a few repairs & a hole !!
I have no idea about rugs or carpets but do know that some pretty shoddy ones sell at actions for a fair bit!!
Any ideas to date & origins is very welcome

Sorry! absolutely no help at all, but looks like the real thing to me anyway, great colours..love these types of rugs, and never cheap..love it!...well done....:-)

I always remember an old work colegue took a plain cream coloured rug from a skip , he had it cleaned and put it into auction amazingly he got just over £3000.00 for it before charges .. aparently it was 19c & made in iran ..! So if i ever see anything like it i pick them up:-)
