How BIZARRE that thing is -- I wish I could help you identify it but am afraid the only thing I can say about it is that I absolutely LOVE its red color and weird style -- it almost looks like it has some kind of serious 'skin disease'??!! <lol> Can you tell if its pattern is actually supposed to represent something (flowers? berry vines?) or is it just sorta 'randomly cancerous'...?? ;-) :-)
It's truly a bizarre piece, that's why I love it! The design is hard to see in the photos, several branches with some type of fruit, flowers and leaves wrap around the teapot. It's very large, measures 12" x 12", porcelain, very heavy. I'm glad you enjoyed it, thank you for your comments.
can we please see a shot of the base? i think that this is a very good piece of Chinese pottery, but not sure till i can see the base.

I located the exact teapot on an auction website. Identified as a Chinese oxblood glazed porcelain teapot. Description: branch-form handle showing intricate moulding of peach vines in high relief encircling the body. Possibly Qing dynasty. Mystery solved!
the slathered brown stain on the base is not a good sign. i've seen it alot on recent Chinese repros.
Thank you for your feedback. I agree that the stain on the bottom and lack of mark could indicate a repro. This is still one of my favorite finds, well worth the $10 I spent!
