I was wondering if anybody knows anything about this type of ring? I bought this at a garage sale and it was almost completely black. I brought it home and cleaned it up. I believe it is sterling silver. It has no markings of any kind. Any help would be great.

This picture is a little closer look.
It looks very similar to oriental buttons, and sometimes they were turned into other types of jewelry, often brooches. "Satsuma button" might yield similar results in an image or eBay search.
