      It is a wood window screen, you see a lot of these on old buildings in Chinese towns. Google it, you should see a lot more. :-)

      Very cool! is that a "chinese dog" carved in the lower part of the "lock"(if it is a lock system) piece?

      Looks like part of an antique Chinese room divider, usually they have 2 movable panels like this, framed in a wood (portal-like) structure.
