Looks to be a survivor previously buried in the dirt… I know many manufactures made these for the Mexican army...Hello couldn’t find any additional markings cleaning rod measured proximately 37 inches long..I’m not a military or firearms guy so any information would be helpful...

Pretty good for a in the ground find. Looks great. Looks like some sort of later 1800s carbine/rifle. Sort of like those used in the Civil Wars and Custer's Last Stand.
I collect antique guns & will give my opinion. I won't turn my pc upside down to try to read the blurred stampings on the lockplate. I would appreciate you telling me. The trigger & guard do appear military, but that style of lockplate was very seldom used on military guns in the flint or early percussion era. The barrel band appears military also. The stock has obviously been cut down to half-stock & that eliminated the front sling swivel. The rear and (front?) sights are not military. The trigger guard may be from a mid 1800 Austrian mi. rifle. My guess is, this is a combination sporting & mil. shotgun. Can you supply the bore diameter ? Pic of buttplate may be helpful too.

Since I don't get all that I asked for, I still say it is a mix-mash of parts to make a personal shotgun. This is a very common thing in those days. I'm almost certain that the trigger-guard & plate are Austrian military, circa, 1850's.
