Looking for advice. Should I get an appraisal is this worth selling? I see listings with huge ranges, some lower than the appraisal cost. I wondered because it was stamped occupied Japan it might be valuable

This type of camera is the main focus of our collection. It is a rare one and is worth your time and money to have it appraised.
Adding to my previous comment. This is not a camera you would send to Sotheby's. But, if you put it on ebay, list it for at least 7 days and do not offer it as a Buy it Now. There are many miniature camera collectors who would love to have this camera, and will bid accordingly.
