    This little table lamp stands slightly over 12" tall. The central shell is a US Navy 1 pounder that is dated 1917. Also attached are four rifle shell casings and bullets.

    What makes this lamp special is the addition of the copper Freemasonry symbol on the central shell. The square and compass is probably the most recognized symbols of Masons.

    The lamp dates from the early post war period. Veterans eager for souvenirs of service, could order vases, lamps and other items created from shells and embellished in a variety of themes.
