An another interesting vintage necklace I recently bought online from Czech republic. I would like to hear your opinions about its age - I would say 1920s - 1930s, but maybe older, what do you think?
Thank you for your opinions on this in advance!

Gorgeous in so many ways, the lovely (carnelian?)stone in filigree setting & pretty hearts in the chain. I agree with the dating as it looks from the art deco period

I would say glass cabochon. Thank you a lot for your dating!!

Pretty design, I hope you are right about the age but I wonder.
Could you use a ruler for a more definitive unit of measure? Cotton-tip applicators may vary in length and circumference depending upon brand.
Thanks for posting your interesting finds!

      Watchsearcher, thank you.
Each chain side is cca 21 cm (cca 8,3 inches) long, the whole necklace is cca 45 cm (17,7) inches long.
The pendant itself is cca 4,3 cm long and 3,5 cm wide.

      Thanks for the measurements.
I love old jewelry and anything else old! Old people included! They have the most interesting stories!
You asked for opinions so as I scrutinized the necklace, I wondered if it's just the angle of the camera or if the red ornament is a tad off-center?
The other thing of concern is on the back side: the center opening is a diamond shape and much smaller than the oval shaped red ornament. I think it originally had a diamond shaped ornament on the front and the oval one has been added.
If it's as old as you believe it is, it's reasonable that the ornament was changed at some point.
But knowing that, I would look carefully to see how the ornament is afixed, is it centered properly (professionally) --so many times things are made to look like something they are not.

Thank you, Watchsearcher! I did not notice that. You have a keen eye!

I have to show my ignorance here: on the measurements, what is the abbreviation "cca"? I've never come across that before.
      Thanks for the posts!

      Watchseaker, circa, approximately

Oh, of course with dates. I'd just never seen that abbreviation with a measurement of length or width so I wanted to clarify. Thanks!

Watchsearcher - maybe that abbreviation is not used in english language at all - my english has its flaws :D
