this is one of the two lamps that were given to me when I purchased that student I gave it a little once-over cleaning without removing any of the patina but I wanted to check the glass there's not a scratch or a mark on it the glass is really nice and is etched with that clear design around the middle with that piece of beautiful marble and then the dolphin legs. I appreciate any insight into what this is thanks very much again for all your help and I'm going to post the second lamp that they gave me at a moment I think as a bridge lamp and it appears to be very old and then the candlesticks they gave me from their families friend in France that are quite interesting and lovely and very heavy

No it is a 1970's lamp. Early 1970's with some slag glass near bottom imitating marble. Often these had a trilight switch and the base would light up also. There are usually many for sale on ebay.
