Whole out beachcombing, I found this washed up on Baltic seashore in mid-Sweden. It appears to be hand-forged of iron as a magnet attaches to it. I'm intrigued by it and am wondering what it is. I was thinking some sort of big knife. However the handle end just seems too long.. Looking forward to hearing some opinions!
It appears there is an outline of 2 holes in pictures one on one side close to the oval on blade?? and the other 5 inches back on handle????

I would think that a wooden handle would go in the oval hole. Perhaps an old ice axe type tool.
Yougottahavestuff they're more like indentations or marks rather than holes. But it's so badly corroded it's hard to tell.
Fhrjr2 can you provide a link to the type of tool that you think it may be?
This is a more modern version, Swiss I believe. They come in all different designs depending on the country of origin. Most now days don't have wooden handles they are more like how a hammer is made but very light weight metal in the handle.
