Found this dagger. Just wondering if anyone recognizes the symbol on the blade and sheath. My 10 year old son is pretty excited to find out where it might be from.

No idea about the emblem but I would say it is a display or show piece as opposed to having been made for actual use.
I think this is pretty good piece, probably persian or close by... as for being showpiece... many fancy mid eastern pieces are display pieces, but still authentic... they are status pieces that guys carry to show off wealth and prestige... usually not made or good for work.. but still works as deadly weapon if needed.
