We bought the vase in Santa Fe, NM in March of 2016. I’m having trouble identifying the artist and tribe.

There is no tribe involved, it is not Native American.

This is Mata Ortiz pottery, named for the village in Mexico where it has been made only since the 1980s None of the potters claim any tribal affiliation. Some of the designs associated with the pottery are derived from copies of pre-Columbian pottery found at the nearby ruins of Paquime, (as well as the Mimbres) but that culture vanished in the 1400s, and there are no known descendants.

The Mexican government officially recognizes the pottery as contemporary Mexican Art Pottery.
