Vintage cap gun. Used special caps with some sort of percussion pin. Does anyone know about that ammo and if it can still be found? I recall it being quite loud when my Dad fired it many years ago.

      Porfanella,
What you have is a 2mm pinfire pistol. I can't see all the markings, but I believe in the second photo, on the frame under the barrel is the word JAPAN. If this has the barrel bored through all the way it is an earlier, pre-WWII example. The later ones had the barrel blocked and a vent hole either on the top or bottom of the barrel.
I have made a few post on these 2mm pinfires, some made in Austria, France, Belgium, Germany, Japan & USA.
A lot of these were used as a fob on a pocket watch chain, put on key chains or on charm bracelets.
Attached is a link to one of my post. I ones I posted are under watch fobs.

I should have stated, that yours appears to be the shorter barrel length, giving the overall length of 1-5/8" instead of 1-7/8"

Thanks Dave. Barrel is fully bored and Japan stamp is on the frame. So I’m surprised to find out that this is pre-WWII. Had no idea. Can pin fire ammo be located?

In the booklet, Tiniest Guns by Bob Urso, you is described as a:
      Little Atom, Round Butt
OAL 1-5/8", Nickel plate, Flower design with beaded background on grips.
Markings: JAPAN on the side. This is an earlier version, with a shorter drilled
      through barrel.
As far as ammo (blanks that produce a very loud sound), can be found. Here is
one I found by doing a google on 2mm pinfire blanks:
      https://pinfireguns.com/pinfire-blanks-twenty-five-p-83.html
These can be very addictive if you start collecting them.
