I just love vintage and old jewelry. To me value is not a drivning force in collecting jewelry. I would go so far as to say it is of almost no importance to me. Instead I want to find pieces I like and want to wear and some pieces are from a time period that is interesting. Sometimes you can find good quality costume jewelry for almost nothing. Like these faux bead brooches that are my "snowflakes". Beautiful to be worn with a silk scarf in the summer or on something wooly and knitted in the winter. I think they are quite nice and add something that modern jewelry can't. Here are some examples from around 1950's - 80's.
And by the way they go very well with my perfumes La vie est Belle :)
You are absolutely right. To collect vintage jewelry is to love it, wear it, enjoy it. It shouldn’t matter is a piece is “signed” or not. The jewelry I love most never had a signature...ever!
Pearls are purity. These are so lovely! The four tier piece with the glowing green cabochon is gorgeous! I have no pearl jewelry ....until just recently...will post next week.
Thank you for reminding us the reason for collecting vintage :)
Thank you Ms.ChrystalShip! I look forward to see your next post as well.
Probably from the 50's and 60's when beads were so popular, You never seem to go wrong buying pearls as they are always as beautiful as they are eternal !~
So pretty! I love the one w/the green cab. Pearls are so lovely and you have some sweet examples.
Thank you PhilDMorris and Valentino for nice answers. I agree :)
Thanks guys for loving my post.
