I found this in my parents basement. I remember it from my childhood. It is from the Standard Red Cedar Company Alta Vista VA. The style number on the bottom is 2235. There are no other markings other than the metal trademark under the lid. It is 36.5w x 18d x 16h. My research shows this company as the earlier years of Lane Furniture. My interest is in its history. If anyone has an information or a direction I can go in I would greatly appreciate it.

Standard red cedar company was the first name they used when they went into business, rather than using their family name. Based on the Lane database information I would say this was made May 3, 1922.

I have one that has the stamped number 229, so I am guessing it is a bit older than the one mentioned above. How I wish I could find someone that would appreciate having something this old. We have been storing it at our son's house and he has no room and we don't either. I guess I will try to find an antique shop that might be interested. Thanks for giving me an idea of how old mine is.
