    I'm curious as to if it is actually an old sewing table and the worth of it, it has 8 to 12 internal sections which twist underneath the table top to move from section to section. The writing say patented July, 18th, 1871. Thanks for your help :D

      I have seen tables like this but with a different shaped trap door. They were called gaming tables. The hidden compartments were where game pieces were stored. Whether it be cards and poker chips or chess and checker pieces. Some of these round ones had flip tops and drawers as opposed to the trap doors. I suppose it could be used as a sewing table.
